Overview

Welcome to the Chandler Municipal Airport Master Plan project page. This site serves as a forum to distribute draft Airport Master Plan materials to the public and allows for public participation with the Airport Master Planning process.

Situated on 550 acres, the Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD) serves the community as an economic development engine and a key part of Chandler’s transportation system.  CHD is classified in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) as a general aviation reliever airport relieving congestion at larger commercial service airports such as Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.  CHD accommodates approximately 500 based aircraft and over 228,000 operations in 2018.  CHD is host to a variety of general aviation activities including flight training, charter flights, military exercises, public safety operations, aircraft repair and maintenance, and aircraft sales.  The master plan has been initiated for CHD to provide proper guidance for existing and future development, which will satisfy aviation demands while maintaining compatibility with the surrounding environment and community.
